Kia Ora and
welcome to Room 15 for 2014.
All information relating to
our class including homework tasks, newsletters, reminders, successes and much
more can be found on this website.
This week is
Week Six. This week we have
our Class and Individual photos taken on Monday.
Our chocolate
fundraiser starts on Thursday – if you or your parents / caregivers do NOT want
you to take part you MUST bring a note to me as soon as possible.
The students from
Makuhari Junior High School arrive on Wednesday afternoon for their two week
visit. There will be a powhiri on Thursday morning to formally welcome them to
our school. We will have at least one Japanese student in our class and I know
that you will all do your best to make them feel welcome and encourage them to
speak English as this is the main reason they are in New Zealand.
Please make
sure that you are Organised Learners and have all of the equipment that you
need for all of your learning at all times – this includes having your togs for
swimming.
I am still
waiting for some of you to return your SMP forms – these were due back at the
beginning of Week 3. Please return these as soon as possible. If you need
another form please let me know.
There are
still some of you who need to pay $7 for the Science Roadshow that is coming in
Week 8. Monday is the last day for you to pay this money. This was on your
Stationery list and is a compulsory part of our Science unit and is a fantastic
opportunity for all of you to participate in some hands on Science experiments.
PE &
ACTIVATE
This year our PE days are
Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. For most of the first term this means swimming
and you are required to have your togs with you on these days. If for any
reason you are unable to swim you must have a note explaining why you are not
swimming and for how long you will not be swimming for and this note MUST signed
by your parents / caregivers.
As Term One goes on we will
be starting other PE lessons and you are required to wear your PE uniform for
these sessions. We will also be going out for Activate on Mondays and Thursdays,
which means that your PE uniform should be at school 5 days a week, every week!
HOMEWORK
Tasks are
given out on Mondays and are expected to be completed and handed in on Fridays.
You are expected to complete 30 minutes of homework EVERY night.
Your tasks are due
back by FRIDAY 14TH MARCH.
