Week 3

This is Week Three. This week we are starting to present our speeches. We are also selling Nachos on Monday at sports break. Remember to keep an eye out for other types of food being sold this week by other classes.
This week we have our school Olympic Games. There are different activities being held during Sports breaks and we need to enter a competitor for each activity. Make sure you take part J
If you were unable to come to the Student Led Conferences at the end of last term but you’d like to make an appointment to meet with me please let me know as soon as possible what day suits you to come in.
I would like to see more homework books being handed in on Fridays please. Thank you to those people who were Organised Learners last week and handed their work in.
A reminder that you are meant to be spending 30 minutes each day completing your homework. Some of you are not meeting this expectation and if this continues there will be consequences. Be Organised Learners and earn yourselves positive consequences.
A reminder for our returning Year 8’s to lead by example and make the most of all of the opportunities that Maeroa has to offer and for Year 7’s to experience as much as they can while they are at Maeroa.

PE and Activate
Our days for PE are Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays and we will be doing Activate on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Our expectation is that you will need to bring your PE uniforms every day. There will be consequences for those of you who choose to not meet this expectation.
Congratulations to those Organised Learners who always have their PE uniforms each time we have PE, your efforts are outstanding!
Homework
Homework is given out every week on a Monday and it is expected that homework is returned completed on Fridays. You are expected to complete around 30 minutes of homework every night.

HOMEWORK IS DUE IN ON FRIDAY 3RD  AUGUST.

Week 2

This is Week Two. This week we are working on our Oratory unit. You are expected to work on your speeches for Homework and there will be school time to work on these.
We are also working on researching Mexico, our chosen country for the Olympics. This includes creating our version of Nachos.
Next week we have lots of Olympic focus activities, including the selling of national foods made by classes. We are selling our Nachos on Monday at sports break. On Thursday we have our School march past and Sarah Ulmer, an Olympic Cycling gold medallist, will be attending this event.
If you were unable to come to the Student Led Conferences at the end of last term but you’d like to make an appointment to meet with me please let me know as soon as possible what day suits you to come in.
I was really impressed with the amount of people who regularly completed and handed in their homework last term. I’m looking forward to this effort continuing this term.
