Our Garden


Here are the photos that were taken to show the process we went through to create our new garden. Our Peas now have flowers on them so it is only a matter of time before we will be able to eat them! J

Our carrots are not far away from being ready as well.

A great job people, I am so proud of you!











 
Now we have Tomatoes, Peas,Carrots, Rhubarb, Irises, Tulips, Daffodils and Freesias in our garden

Week 8


This Friday we have the first of our Formal Assemblies – the Recognition Assembly. Next week we have the Cultural Assembly on Monday, Sports Assembly on Wednesday and the final Merit Assembly on Friday. Many of you will be receiving awards and will need to attend the practises held the day before. It’s really important that you remember what number / s you are given.

Congratulations to our tug of war team – we have now progressed into the finals stage. We play Room 17 on Wednesday and another class on Thursday. I am so proud of you all J

We are still swimming until the end of the term so please remember to bring your togs to school on our PE days.

Congratulations to Grace for achieving her Bronze Koru badge last Friday.

Secret Santa names were given out last week – remember to bring your wrapped present in by Friday next week. Minimum spend is $5 and maximum spend is $15. You can bring your presents in from now on.

Week 7


This Wednesday we have our trip to Mount Maunganui for Beach Education. There was a reminder slip that went home on Monday giving you reminders about what to bring. The most important thing is that you MUST be at school AT 7.15am. The buses are leaving at 7.30am – if you are late you will miss out!

Good luck to Paige and Jasmine for Inter Intermediate Athletics on Tuesday!

Congratulations to Ayden, Fatima and Taylah for achieving their Bronze Koru badges on Friday.

Remember to bring your togs AND your PE gear every day this week.

Week 6


I am still waiting for Beach Ed / Surf Lifesaving forms from KRISTIAN, NAVI and JACKSON. These MUST be handed in by TUESDAY. Your $30 is due in by THIS Friday. If there are any parents who want to help please let me know as soon as possible.

This week we do not have any Tech / Arts as the Year 6’s from our contributing schools are having their Orientation visits.

Please bring your togs on Friday for Swimming.

There is an early finish tomorrow for those people who have brought back their forms. The teachers have an NZEI meeting to go to.

Week 5


This week we have our first class sessions in the Life Education Caravan.  Good luck to Mckeilah and Jewel who are representing Maeroa in the Inter Intermediate Softball competition on Tuesday.

Start bringing your togs to school on our PE days J

Beach Ed / Surf Lifesaving forms MUST be handed in by Friday. Your $30 is due in by NEXT Friday. If there are any parents who want to help please let me know as soon as possible.

NZEI meeting forms need to be handed back in as soon as possible. If they are not in by next Monday then you will have to stay at school instead of having an early day. I have more forms if you have lost your one.

Basic Facts Congratulations

Congratulations to Dilraj, Jewel and Sage for getting their fastest time ever in Basic Facts test on Friday  :-)

Week 3


This is Week Three. This Wednesday we have our annual Grandparent’s Assembly at 9am. Please invite your Grandparents and / or other special adults in your life to come to this assembly. They will have an opportunity to visit with you in class as well. This week we are working on poetry, Athletics, a new team reading rotation, decimals and Geometry. We are now well under way with our end of year assessment tasks. I have been very pleased with the results – awesome work guys J

The forms for our trip to Mount Maunganui for Beach Education / Surf Lifesaving were handed out on Friday. Please make sure that all parts of your forms are filled out. You can start paying the $30 to the student mailbox. Your money needs to be paid by the Friday of Week 6, which is the 23rd November.

Our school Athletics Day is coming up. A newsletter will be coming out for those of you who will be representing Kauri Team later on this week. It will have the events you are participating in and what bus you will need to catch to and from Porritt Stadium.

Term 4 - Week One


Welcome back to school. I hope you all had a relaxing holiday. Term 4 is an extremely busy term that goes really, REALLY quickly. Don’t forget to make the most of the opportunities presented to you this term J

 

This is Week One. This week we are working on poetry, Athletics, a new spelling programme, a new team reading rotation, decimals and Geometry. Today a letter was handed out regarding our proposed trip to Mt Maunganui to participate in a Beach Education programme called Surf Safety. These forms MUST be returned by Thursday at the latest.

I was really impressed with the amount of people who regularly completed and handed in their homework last term. I’m looking forward to this effort continuing this term.

Holidays


Hi everyone, hope you are having a great holiday.

Week 10

This is Week Ten. This week we have extra people in our class from Rm 14 as Mrs Hollinger is away at Sports Camp. This week is also the last week for Indoor Football.
Our trip to Taupo has been confirmed as $90 and that needs to be paid by THIS Friday, 21ST September. Remember to write your name, room number, what the money’s for and how much you are paying. A reminder that this trip is on Wednesday 26th & Thursday 27th September – week 11. J 
I am waiting for forms from GREYSON, JOSH AND SOFIA .These forms were due to me LAST Monday. We need those forms in as soon as possible so that we can confirm the menu and get Medical supplies organised.
I would like to see more homework books being handed in on Fridays please. Thank you to those people who were Organised Learners last week and handed their work in.

Week 9

This is Week Nine. This week we have a teacher only day on Friday. I hope you enjoy your long weekend and think of me at work doing a Maths course on Friday while you’re at home J Because it’s a short week your homework is due in on THURSDAY!
CLASSIC HITS RADIO STATION IS RUNNING A SCHOOL COMPETITION ON FRIDAY MORNING for our school and three other schools.
To win, all students have to do is call on 0800 00 2527  anytime between 7am-8.40am on Friday (Sept 14th) during our breakfast show (Bunty and Justine in the Morning on 98.6fm) and let us know what class they in at what school (each student / parent representing a student can call once).  At 8.45am we will announce live on air what class at which school we had the most phone calls from and that class will win all 40 double passes (allowing all the students to attend with one guest).

This is Week Eight. This week we have a drama performance from the Rumaki and Bilingual classes related to the story The River Which Ran Away. Tech / Arts is back this week J
A HUGE congratulations to our Kauri Theatresports Team, including Jackson, who WON the Finals last Thursday. A tough battle which we only won by ONE point.  We are so proud of you!

Week 7

This is Week Seven. This week we have Specialised Programmes which will run in Block 3 all of this week. Remember that there won't be any Tech / Arts this week.
A big congratulations to our Kauri Theatresports Team, including Greyson and Jackson,  who have made it into the Finals. The finals are on Thursday Block 2.  We are so proud of you!

A reminder that this trip is on Wednesday 26th & Thursday 27th September – week 11. We went to have a look at the accommodation during the weekend and it looks absolutely fabulous!!!!
