2014 - Term One, Week 3

Kia Ora and welcome to Room 15 for 2014. I hope you are all as excited as I am about the start of a new year with new faces, new experiences and successes to look forward to.

All information relating to our class including homework tasks, newsletters, reminders, successes and much more can be found on this website.

This week is Week Three. This week we will focusing on learning in our groups now that most of our initial assessments have been completed. Please make sure that you are Organised Learners and have all of the equipment that you need for all of your learning at all times – this includes having your togs for swimming.

Year 8’s who are returning to Room 15 are expected to lead by example and support people who are new to our room. Remember to make the most of the opportunities offered to you this year!

Year 7’s and new Year 8’s to our school are also encouraged to make the most of the opportunities that Maeroa has to offer. You are the only one standing in the way of experiencing success!!

Please keep bringing in your SMP forms, team newsletter slips and Goal Setting Conference slips.

This Thursday from 5.30 – 7pm we will be having our Annual Kauri Team meet the teacher BBQ / Picnic Evening. If you are coming to this please return your Team Newsletter form as soon as possible so that we have an idea of how many sausages we will need to buy. A copy of this newsletter can be found on this blog.

PE & ACTIVATE

This year our PE days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. For most of the first term this means swimming and you are required to have your togs with you on these days. If for any reason you are unable to swim you must have a note explaining why you are not swimming and for how long you will not be swimming for and this note MUST signed by your parents / caregivers.

As Term One goes on we will be starting other PE lessons and you are required to wear your PE uniform for these sessions. We will also be going out for Activate on Mondays and Thursdays, which means that your PE uniform should be at school 5 days a week, every week!

HOMEWORK

Tasks are given out on Mondays and are expected to be completed and handed in on Fridays. You are expected to complete 30 minutes of homework EVERY night.

This task is due back by FRIDAY 21ST  FEBRUARY.
