Week 6

Kia Ora, Guten Tag and welcome to our blog for 2012 J
This is where you will be able to find your homework tasks, team newsletters, information about what is happening during the week and reflections on what we have been doing in class.
We are now in Week Six. This week some of you will have a Turbo Touch session with Sport Waikato on Tuesday afternoon. We also have a performance from the Hato Petera Kapa Haka group on Tuesday afternoon. We also continue with our Pie Drive. I hope you are all out there selling pies and lamingtons to friends, family and neighbours. Remember to use your manners when out selling. Make sure you are in your blue uniform and take someone with you so that you aren’t on your own.
Thank you to everyone who voted for our school video for the Easiyo competition. Maeroa came 2nd and got a special award for our video J
Please bring back your trip forms filled out properly as soon as you can. We are really excited about going to the Auckland Museum J
Student Led Conferences are being held in Week 10 on Tuesday 26th and Thursday 28th June. Please bring back your forms indicating what time you’d like to come in and see me. There are slips in last week’s newsletter which can also be found on the school website. I have also included a slip at the bottom of this page if you’d like to print it out or send a note with the day and time slot you’d prefer.
A great start to the term with lots of homework books being handed in. A reminder that you are meant to be spending 30 minutes each day completing your homework. Some of you are not meeting this expectation and if this continues there will be consequences. Be Organised Learners and earn yourselves positive consequences.
Thank you to Jewel, Jenny, William, Mckeilah, Brooke, Fatima and Sage who all shared some ideas about what they would like to see on our blog. I will do my best to include all of your ideas throughout the rest of the year J
CONGRATULATIONS to Mckeilah and Emma for getting 100% in their Basic Facts test last Friday. Well done to Navi for receiving last week’s academic koru for his efforts throughout the week.
REMINDERS: CHOCOLATE MONEY IS OWED BY SOFIA AND JAHROME
SMP forms from Navi, Jackson, Chris, Ayden, Jahrome, Josh, Rylee, Emma, Florence and Sofia, homework is due this Friday.
Your music month projects are also due in this Friday, 1st June.
A reminder for our returning Year 8’s to lead by example and make the most of all of the opportunities that Maeroa has to offer and for Year 7’s to experience as much as they can while they are at Maeroa.

PE and Activate
Our days for PE are Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays and we will be doing Activate on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Our expectation is that you will need to bring your PE uniforms every day. There will be consequences for those of you who choose to not meet this expectation.
Congratulations to those Organised Learners who always have their PE uniforms each time we have PE, your efforts are outstanding!
Homework
Homework is given out every week on a Monday and it is expected that homework is returned completed on Fridays. You are expected to complete around 30 minutes of homework every night.

HOMEWORK IS DUE IN ON FRIDAY 1st JUNE.
