Term 2 - Week 1

Discloser statement – we had picked the names for our girls when we had a scan in January this year.

Just letting you know that our girls decided to arrive on the Saturday morning just after school finished. They arrived by emergency caesarean section and Amelia Ryelea Isabel arrived at 9.12am weighing 2.4kg (5.3 pounds) and Morghan Tracy Kelly arrived at 9.14am weighing 2.1kg (4.6 pounds).

They spent three weeks in the NICU (Newborn Intensive Care Unit) until they were big enough to come home. They had tubes in their noses because they were still learning how to feed properly.

This week is Week Eleven. This week is our last week of term. Eleven weeks has gone by extremely fast. Because this week is short due to Easter homework will be due in on WEDNESDAY this week.

 A special thank you for being such an amazing class this year and last year, for those of you who were in Rm 15 last year. I am very proud of all of you and how far you have come in such a short space of time. I know that you will continue this progress with Mrs Timu for the remainder of the year. Keep an eye out for photos of the twins on this site and we will definitely be visiting you later on next term.

This week we have our celebration lunch for the top 3 people who have earned the most tokens on Wednesday at sports break

We also have an end of term shared lunch happening on Thursday. Please make sure you bring a plate of food to share with the rest of the class.

I was so proud to have Mrs Bain come to our class early last week to let us know that we were the ONLY class in the whole school who had brought back all of their chocolate money and chocolates!!! Hope you all enjoyed your special treat.

Enjoy your holidays – relax and come back next term refreshed and ready for more learning. Don’t eat too many Easter Eggs J

PE & ACTIVATE

This year our PE days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Remember that from now on swimming will be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays ONLY and we will be doing Jump Jam and class PE sessions on Fridays. It is really important that you have your PE uniform on Fridays.

As Term One goes on we will be starting other PE lessons and you are required to wear your PE uniform for these sessions. We will also be going out for Activate on Mondays and Thursdays, which means that your PE uniform should be at school 5 days a week, every week!

HOMEWORK

Tasks are given out on Mondays and are expected to be completed and handed in on Fridays. You are expected to complete 30 minutes of homework EVERY night.

This week is Week Ten. This week we have the school Triathlon on Monday afternoon and Norm Hewitt is here on Thursday to speak to the whole school.

On Wednesday night we have our first school social. Remember all the things that Whaea Karyn and Mr Biddle spoke about at assembly on Friday. If you haven’t got your invitation please see me as soon as possible. It is really important to let your family know that they MUST come into the gym to pick you up – you WILL NOT be allowed to leave the gym to find them.

Well done to everyone who has returned their chocolate and money – fantastic effort J

Please make sure that you are Organised Learners and have all of the equipment that you need for all of your learning at all times – this includes having your togs for swimming.

Week 8

This week is Week Eight. This week we have the second half of our school Literacy Quiz. We will be continuing with our Science experiments this week which is preparation for our Science evening next Tuesday.

Our chocolate fundraiser finishes this week. Congratulations to everyone who has brought back money. Remember if you haven’t sold any chocolates to return them as soon as possible so that others can sell them. If you have money at home it MUST come back the very next day. ALL chocolate must be returned by THIS Friday and money must be returned by NEXT Friday.

On Friday we have the Science Roadshow for those of you who have paid.

On Friday we also have a balloon from the Balloons over Waikato at school. There will be some food for sale and the balloon will inflate and, weather permitting, take off from our field and then the pilots will return later in the day to speak to the school.

Remember that your triathlon entry forms are due to Mr Metcalfe by this Friday.

Please make sure that you are Organised Learners and have all of the equipment that you need for all of your learning at all times – this includes having your togs for swimming.
